  2010 Fungicide Planning  06/12/10 8:09:45 AM

It may be hard to believe after such a busy spring that the corn will be shooting tassels in three weeks, but it will. Now is the time to start preparing for your application of Quilt or Headline products. Aggressive prepay programs earlier this spring helped us all figure out the set amount of acres that most of you plan to spray. Please be thinking if you still intend to spray the same fields talked about or if any plans have changed. Our people will be starting to print maps and create work orders for the pilots as we head into the first part of July. During the past three years of fungicide applications we fully believe that our growers who spray on the front side of the disease onset definitely get the highest return on their fungicide dollar. Last season many growers were hesitant on the trigger, but as the picture above shows us, diseases move in quick when weather conditions are favorable. We expect a lot of acres to be sprayed with fungicides this year on Northeast Kansas corn and soybean fields, so please be starting to communicate your plans with us so that this spraying season is successful and smooth.  Talk with Roger or Jesse at Wathena, Terry at Troy, Jed or Ron at Leona, Jay at Denton or Arlan and Danny at KIRO.  Our cell phones are all listed on the "Contact" page of this website.

Key Points that we will be asking upon a spray order:
Sensitive Neighbors
Organic Crops in the Area
Planting Date, Hybrid, Crop Rotation
Billing Info & Splits
Legals / Surety Map / FSA Map
